3G further delayed in India

Image
if you want to try 3G then MTNL and BSNL will be the only choices for a couple of months. As the Ministry of Defence (MoD) wants keep most of the 3G spectrum for itself. Now, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) wants to continue using a majority of spectrum available in the country despite a new secure optic fibre network being built for defence communication, reports UTVi. At the same time, consumers waiting for private telecom operators to offer 3G services will have fewer options since the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has decided to shrink the number of 3G players up to 5 per circle, including state-owned BSNL and MTNL. DoT says: - The MoD wants to continue using 60-70 percent of the total available spectrum in the country - This will leave very little available spectrum for telecom operations - Defence ministry also wants an annual maintenance contract for their optic fibre network - This optic fibre network would replace the spectrum vacated by defence forces - MoD not in

Panda releases cloud-computing antivirus for free

Image
Panda the famous software company now releases the cloud-computing based Antivirus . Its still in pre-Dominic stage and need a lot of work but still its the first of its kind and would be great to see a fully developed version of it soon. It was in hurry to release the software as the public is becoming awa re of recent threats and security was in top priorities after the recent "conficker" attack. Panda Cloud Antivirus beta bets that nearly three years of development can pay off into a better protection system for users. To that end, Panda's willing to make the client free for personal use--even after it leaves beta testing. Its around 50MB and is quite fast but we hope to see a better competance in that region from other software security offices. Cloud computing may make sense from a system resources point of view, but what happens to system security when the computer isn't connected to the Internet? "The model we've implemented is to break down the tradi

Audialsone is a complete tool that is made by linking the following three software- 1.Radiotracker 2.MP3videoraptor 3.Tunebite "Read more on how to win free product key to the software". The software seemed a bit complex at first, i was not able to configure how to use it but later on it was fun. Yahoo shuts down geocities

Image
Long ago when i started to know about Internet, the first thing that i knew of free web hosting was Geocities. It was yahoo who offered free web hosting. But due to some unknown reason its closed now. We have no definite reason for its closure but as rumors say it was stiff competition, better options and to focus on other products. GeoCities was once known for pioneering the personal portal era where anyone could build up their own personal pages. GeoCities got acquired by Yahoo! for $2.87 billion in 1999. However, the service suffered badly in the last eight years or so as blogging platforms evolved and the website-creating and hosting services gradually became cheaper. But whatever it has been we all will miss Geocities the site that made all dream come true of owing a site.
